The Australian Wool Industries Secretariat Inc (AWIS) comprises the following organisations:
Australian Council of Wool Exporters and Processors Inc. (ACWEP)
Private Treaty Wool Merchants of Australia Inc (PTWMA)
Federation of Australian Wool Organisations (FAWO)
The staff at AWIS provide administrative support and advisory services to members of the above wool bodies.
AWIS' role is to:
Keep
members informed of developments in the wool industry
Represent
members' interests in discussions with relevant government departments/other
industry sectors
Participate on industry committees on members' behalf
Liaise and
work with other industry sectors for development and success of the Australian
wool industry
The Secretariat also:
Provides administrative and advisory support to the Australian
Superfine Wool Growers Association Inc (ASWGA)
Secretarial support is also provided to The
National Council of Wool Selling Brokers of Australia Ltd
(NCWSBA)
